Staying in the Groove – 2025 in Review, 2026 Ahead
Staying involved while turning into grey and old
Dear Friends,
As 2025 slowly draws to a close, we’d like to pause for a moment before taking the next step. To look at where we started, where we’ve arrived, and where we hope to go — together with you.
The last few years have taken a toll on all of us in one way or another.
The world has changed faster than anyone could keep up with, and many lost that one solid point of return — the place you go back to when everything else becomes uncertain.
For us at Whole Beats, music has always been that point. Even the collective has been founded in 2024 our work spans way before that tapping into the late ‘90s.
Throughout our lives, we have done everything we could to never let go of our love for music, or the commitment to serve the well-being of audiences past, present, and future — and we still do so today.
From the late ’90s through the 2000s and 2010s, we gathered thousands of stage hours through countless performances — in different formations, cities, countries, underground spaces, events and improvised venues.
Now, as we slowly approach the “honourable veteran” stage of our journey, we try to pass on every drop of energy that these decades of experience gave us — and we keep practicing the craft for our own joy as well. Sometimes online, sometimes in person, depending on where the path leads.
The Power of Presence — Lessons from 2025
This year, more than ever, it became clear how important it is — for us and for you — to stay present:
– present in the rhythm that calms or energises,
– present in the melody that connects us and carries us into a new era,
– present in that tiny breath of space when the noise of the world softens, and all that remains is sound… and goosebumps under the jumper.
– present at events and cyberspace, also offering merch at the online market.
The Energy of Shared Vibration
We learned a lot this year from our online broadcasts.
The tests, experiments, new formats, and technical improvements all showed that true connection can exist even in a digital space.
We were genuinely happy to see you tuning in — even during the early “experimental” streams in various genres and settings. We saw the comments, the reactions, the presence in the statistics. Sometimes there were two or three people with us live, sometimes far more — but every single occasion mattered.
What truly counted was this: we could feel something shared, something that reached beyond screens, software, cables, devices — and even beyond the occasional disagreements within our own ranks.
That feeling gave us energy and momentum. It still gives us energy every single day , and we continue harvesting that momentum step by step. It pushes us to dive into more and more styles. It gives meaning to the long hours spent preparing mixes, shows, and the later post-production work.
What’s Coming in 2026?
Honestly? A lot.
There are several projects already in the works — quietly, step by step.
• old-new shows returning
• evolving visual worlds
• thematic online radio formats
• fresh interactive ideas
• and surprises we’ll reveal in due time
We don’t want to become a “big radio,” and we don’t want to pretend to be one.
We aren’t competing with anyone, and we have no intention of harming anyone’s space.
We do this because it feels good to play music for you.
Because it feels good to bathe in new sound combinations.
Because it feels good to share music, and to remain active on the performing side as well.
And because it’s beautiful to see that for someone — even just for an hour or two — life becomes a little lighter thanks to what we offer.
That is the real reason to keep going.
A Shared Legacy
We often reflect on the rich musical heritage we received from the generations before us. We want to pass something forward as well.
The mixes, the streams, the videos, the daytime and nighttime sessions — these are all parts of a shared legacy that someone else might continue one day.
If that ever happens, you will be just as much a part of it as we are.
